We closed our school year by celebrating one last all-school mass together. After mass, students in 4th - 7th grades were awarded for academic excellence.
We had so much fun at Field Day that we needed two posts to fit all the cuteness in!
Field Day was a major success! We had beautiful weather for a day filled with fun activities, lunch on the lawn, popsicles, and lots of laughter!
Grace athletes and their families attended our Athletic Banquet to honor their hard work and dedication. Our athletic teams include: Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, Wrestling, Basketball, Chess, Tennis, and Track & Field.
Huge thanks to the librarians and staff at the East Moline Louis E. Woodworth Public Library for welcoming our preschool class. It was a beautiful day for a walk downtown and great motivation to keep reading over the summer break.
During our 8th-grade Graduation mass and awards ceremony, we celebrate Christ's sacrifice and honor our graduates. Several of our graduates were awarded various financial aid scholarships by generous donors to be used toward tuition at Alleman next year.
We love naptime with our full-day preschool program! Here you can see where they opted for their final nap of the year to take their cots outside for quiet time in the shade, where they all slept peacefully watched over by Sister Stefanie and Mrs. Hernandez.
The 8th-grade Farewell is a long-standing tradition. We gather in the cafeteria and honor our 8th graders on their final day of school. The 8th graders design and wear their own class t-shirts that they reveal that morning. After honors and awards, we watch a slideshow looking back at their time with us at Grace from preschool to today. The morning is filled with laughter, applause, and quite a few tears.
The 4th graders became really interested in playing the card game Oregon Trail after learning their Western States. They wanted to take a picture to be displayed in the classroom Hall of Fame for being the first ones to beat the game. They failed many times before working together and figuring out a strategy to endure the journey and stay alive!
Join us as we remember and honor our heroes. Gracious God, On this Memorial Day, we pray for those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
