Teacher In-Service Friday - 11:30 dismissal
2nd grade has had many surprise visitors lately. "Mystery Readers" have been dropping in to spend time reading their favorite books to them over the last several weeks. The students are given 3 clues to try to guess who their Mystery Reader will be... Who will be next?
5th and 6th-grade science has been working on a STEM project of their own, designing a playground in 6 different groups. The students were asked to include a ladder and slide, but they all put their own creative ideas into action to create many unique and innovative designs.

Our 1st-grade student of the week for the week of Feb. 27 is Chase! He likes to play games, read, and play guitar. When he grows up, he wants to be in a band and be a teacher.
On the first Friday in Lent, 2nd grade participated in our parish adoration. We took time to be still and reflect. Afterwards, on our walk back to class, we stopped to appreciate the stained glass art of the Holy Family. We discussed how the art of stained glass is present in Catholic churches in our own community, and throughout the world.

After an exciting 2nd day of chess, we are so proud of our team!! They placed 16th out of 41 teams in the 6th-grade division. And congratulations to our 7th-grade student, Julien, who finished 45th out of 176 in the individual competition.

The first day of competition at the state Chess tournament was a success! Our team is having a great time, and everyone has at least one win under their belts. There are about 550 students competing from all over Illinois.
